Accidents happen. That’s why we have insurance.
Someone can look in their rear-view mirror for a split second, a car suddenly stops in front of them, and a collision occurs.
Most of us have been there. It’s not fun, but it happens.
There is a certain type of insurance called Personal Injury Protection (aka PIP) that will pay for medical expenses related to an auto accident, even if it is your fault.
In fact, PIP will pay for any medical expenses related to any injury sustained from any vehicular incident. If it’s a windy day and your trunk lid flies open and smacks you in the head, PIP will cover medical expenses related to those injuries.
PIP will also cover medical expenses if you get in an accident, and the at-fault driver doesn’t have insurance.
Not everyone has PIP coverage. PIP is included in your policy, unless you specify that you don’t want it on your policy. But if you have been in an accident that was ruled to be your fault, check with your insurance company to see if you have PIP coverage.
PIP typically has a maximum of $2500 worth of coverage; some policies may cover more than $2500, so ask your insurance agent what your PIP coverage is.
We will provide the insurance adjuster all the paperwork necessary to file the claim, so that you can focus on getting your life back to normal.
